Benefits:
Time saving and easy work with single PO, single GL, single unit, single page invoices. Sourcery works great with small sized companies and with small teams. Dragging and dropping invoices and paying them with single clicks are time savers. Also automatically reads the data on the invoice when indexed from a suitable format without any mistakes which makes it efficient.
Drawbacks:
I haven't seen any issues with the software as I only used Sourcery for a limited time (less than 2 months) during my temporary work.
In sum:
If the companies accounts payable team is small and receiving a few invoices, Sourcery might be the one to consider.

Benefits:
Sourcery requires a degree of initial up front setup, but once that has been done it is remarkably accurate. For example, we needed to setup our vendor list, but once that has been done this system was able to take a scanned invoice and identify which vendor it belongs to as well as which store location. Because Sourcery would only use the vendor list we provided we never needed to worry about our data being split up among multiple variations of the same vendor name. The up front setup requirements are substantial, but in the long run it prevents lots of problems using an OCR system can cause.
Drawbacks:
Sourcery does have the feel of something that was cobbled together and in many ways that is the case. Pages can just refuse to load, we completely ignored the statements function as it seemed that Sourcery would only really process anything there every couple of months, and because the system was not designed for item extraction you are unable to see the extracted items on an invoice once you have mapped them to your GL accounts. The biggest issue I had with Sourcery, though, was that as a user I was almost always unable to edit vendor information myself. Customer support could make a fix quickly, but I was not a fan of not having the control to update things myself.
In sum:
Ultimately our business needed to move to a platform that had more support for line item extraction in invoices. Sourcery is able to do line item extraction, but it hasn't been fully integrated into their user interface. This means that users cannot see the split items after they have mapped them to GL accounts, nor can users modify mistakes if they find them. Even updating the GL account mapping requires going into another section of the website and slogging through some of the slowest load times out there. However, while Sourcery was not able to deliver what we needed in this category they did hit the ball out of the park nearly everywhere else. The system was able to identify which store locations our invoices were for so we were able to set up vendors to auto-email invoices directly to Sourcery and that saved us hours of time that would have been spent sorting out which invoices went to which store. Their reporting section is actually very robust, if a bit slow, so we actually got some great analytical data straight from within Sourcery without having to build reports in our accounting software. This allowed our managers to quickly review potential issues even before talking with the central office. Sourcery's customer service was top notch and while I sometimes didn't like the reason I had to contact them, they did always fix whatever I needed right away. If you don't need to modify line item extraction when looking at an invoice then Sourcery is a great platform.
