Benefits:

First off, the documentation of the software is comprehensive and clear. Secondly the software allows auditors to work on the host locally as well as using a server, allowing entire teams to share data together. Finally the software supports an extensive list of data formats, from XML to different kind of database formats and as a bonus it has scripting options.

Drawbacks:

When working with a remote server, the software tends to lock up during data load. This ensures the integrity of the data, but it's makes the user feel as if the software is unresponsive.

In sum:

Overall the software is great because it has been developed with the end user in mind. If I were to choose between IDEA and other auditing and data analytics software I would prefer IDEA because it offers a comprehensive set of features for data audits.

Benefits:

This software has very useful features to analyze data. I love how easy it is to import and export data.

Drawbacks:

I found it confusing to use at first and takes a while to learn how to use it well. Other than that I have found no other issues.

I am able to easily import many different types of files and extract specific data based on parameters.

Multiple license types, takes time to learn. Best method is to work through the tutorials, take training or purchase the IDEA Workbook.

This analyzing tool is very easy to use. It can import various types of files and extract data from them very easily.

Drawbacks:

This analytics application lacks some features or functionalities with compared to some high-end data analytics applications.

Benefits:

I love the functions of this software, helps me cut the time it takes to do my accounting processes in half. Makes my job much easier!

Drawbacks:

The functionality could be improved upon. Some features are hard to use and the software is subject to freezing and crashing.

Good overall experience, very helpful. Take a minute to get the hang of it but very pleased with the software.

Benefits:

It is user friendly, very easy to use for a newbie, the interface is modern and fr..esh, is very light and doesn't require a lot of processing power from the host machine

Drawbacks:

There is not enough information out there to learn how to use it but i suppose that is more about the company than the software itself

La capacidad para procesar archivos, permite trabajar con archivos de mas de 15 millones de registros, procesamiento rápido, las carpetas creadas para almacenar la información, facilidad para crear la consultas. Herramienta para personas no expertas en sistemas de información. La generación de estadísticas de cada archivo.

Drawbacks:

La forma en que crecen exponencialmente los archivos a medida que se hacen consultas y a veces el tamaño de los archivos después de múltiples consultas no permite leerlo. Los ejemplos de la ayuda no son claros para quien quiere utilizar formulas.

In sum:

Análisis de información, cruces de información de archivos de tamaño mayor a 5 GB, consultas rápidas aun cuando el equipo no tenga una buena configuración. Opera con menos recursos que los que se recomienda por el fabricante.

Benefits:

I like the account mapping feature especially, and love the fact that it can be rolled from one audit to the next (YOY).

Drawbacks:

It can be confusing to learn at the start, and it's useful to attend training or have someone show you how the tool works

A great addition to your audit tool suite and invaluable in organizing your work.

Benefits:

Is a good tool to allow auditors to make sample selections. It is user friendly once you get the basics of it.

Drawbacks:

It gets some getting used to it, but once you do, it is really easy to use again and again.
