I like that it was simple to set up and the performance is good. We were able to set it up in Citrix Xenapp very easily and deploy to our users with no problems. In fact, setup took about 1 hour to complete in total. We did an upgrade from a 10 year old version of the software, and when we started the new software up, it worked very well. Our users weren't able to tell the difference between the old version and the new version.

Drawbacks:

It is based on Visual FoxPro, an antiquated database platform that hasn't been updated since the early 2000's. Luckily, technical support was very aware of it's limitations and had extensive documentation on how to get the software running on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

The fact that it can only be hostel locally is a disadvantage for our company. Installation is tedious and the company keeps releasing updates which means you need to uninstall the server and all client modules then reinstall the new version. Such excercise easily takes a week furthermore, the MySQL database kept showing up configuration problems hence there was a lot of support needed from the supplier however the reaction time was quite lengthy which resulted in a process of several months to get it working properly.

Daily front end ease of use and functionality. Employees not in my department find it easy to use as well and have not been resistant to using. PM scheduler is a great tool that keeps PM's from getting missed.

Drawbacks:

There is a learning curve on the back end setting up PM's and some other tasks but once you have it down it's not that bad.

Our team loves that we can see the location of any work order or asset directly on the plan. This visual goes such a long way in our ability to assess an issue or topic quickly and get to work. We don't have to go through the painstaking process of walking a coworker through the process of exactly where in the building we are referencing, it is right there in a drawing that we can all see. This saves so much time!

Our only wish would be to have the capability to upload and manage the CAD background files on our own instead of having the (awesome) FacilityOne team do it every time we tweak a drawing. It would just add that much more flexibility to the program that is already so amazingly flexible!

Our favorite part of the FacilityONE program is being able to see so much information on the go. We can be anywhere with a mobile device and have the ability to look up plans, or find a finish spec or talk through a work order with a team member. With this tool we are just so much more efficient and our jobs are that much easier to execute, it makes us one very happy team! We also can't say enough good things about the FacilityONE team. They are always extremely responsive to our questions, technical needs and provide their support in an incredibly gracious manner. Working with our FacilityONE account management team has felt like working with longtime friends or good family. They are kind, attentive and thoughtful outside of our direct needs with the program, you can expect a greeting card on Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.!

Once I learned how to function in Legacy, it's been hard to re-learn the updated version of Unity. Yes, there have been learning opportunities but there is such a significant change in format, I've not spent the time re-learning what feels like an altogether different system.

Drawbacks:

Editing PM work orders has been a challenge. Eliminating duplicates and changing the standard assigned employee should be easier, I would think.

Summary:

Customer service has always been exceptional. Almost every request I've ever had has been handled in the same day.

Not able to make name or task changes to existing PM's. If we have a more than one piece of equipment on the PM we cannot make a change to one of them without effecting the others. Also we don't like that the system logs you out after a certain amount of time. I have had log me out after on being in the program for 15 minutes.

Summary:

Facility One is a great database for our maintenance program.
