I helped set up with an online store for baby products. We went with Ashop because their service included a lot of premium features that other platforms charged for. I found it easy to set up new pages and upload content. We had over 1000 products to include and we could get them online with ease. Orders are easy to track and the metrics are great to find out which products are selling well. The interface was a bit trickier than some of the other ones out there (eg there's no drag and drop), but once you figure it out, it's straight forwards. I would recommend Ashop to other businesses looking to build their online presence.

Benefits:

Easy to add new products afresh or as a copy of an existing product. Integrates with many payment methods. Basic options are a reasonable price.

Drawbacks:

No FTP access for integration with accounting system, just use of CSV files. They are not keen on listening to customers. The cost of some add-ons ... Read more

No FTP access for integration with accounting system, just use of CSV files. They are not keen on listening to customers. The cost of some add-ons is high.

Summary:

Much easier to track orders and shipments than just using PayPal. Allows discounts to be given to re sellers or repeat buyers.

I am an Ashop customer, have been for 8 years and have stuck with them though many bad upgrade and reductions in functionality. During the version 4 release back at the beginning of August i decided i had had enough and decided i could no longer stand by and be quite regards the mess that the software and support was in, despite being warned by other customers that Ashop could be quite nasty if stood up to. I didn't believe it but then on the 19th of September i received the following from Ashop: - ------------------- Dear Mr Driver NOTICE OF TERMINATION It is with regret that we feel that our mutual working relationship has broken down to such an extent that we have now to give you notice of our intention to terminate our Agreement. Therefore we hereby give 45 days notice that we shall discontinue all of our services with you and your company. This means store# 3710 will be closed by 4th November 2013. Please take this email as statement of the official notice of termination period as stated in our terms and conditions paragraph 6 -6.2 With regards Ashop Commerce XXXXXX ------------------------- Seriously folks, if they can do this to a customer of 8 years, who had spent time, energy and money in creating a store that had rank and loyalty, then believe me when i say that they will do this to anybody who dares to question them. I now have to try and move my store to a new platform so that i do not miss the Christmas sales period worst of it is, i cant even download my data from Ashop because it is still failing as it has been since the August upgrade to version 4.

Designing the store was a bit tricky. I've learned it's just easier to pay someone to do the design work rather than try and do it myself. Ashop provides design services too, and I've been pretty happy with the results.

Myself and my husband run a pet products business called Jimbella Pets. 6 years ago we set up our website through Ashop and overall we've been happy with them ever since. We went through some issues when version 4 was released last August just like MrD said in his review. At the time, we had a look around at other options, but they either were too expensive, didn't have enough features or charged a transaction fee on our sales. So we decided to stick with Ashop and a couple of months later they had fixed up most of the problems with version 4. They apologised and even gave us some free design work. I don't know what happened with version 4, but since about October 2013 everything has been running really smoothly for us. There are a couple of new features we love such as conditional emails for getting customers to come back after they abandon the basket. This has helped our sales.

It has a lot of checks and balances that doesn't allow the user to make mistakes. It also shows the designer custom options they may not be aware of to give their client the best design solution possible. Once you learn the drop-down abbreviations and become proficient you can quickly create a quote for your client. New employees never exposed to the system are able to pick it up quite rapidly as it is extremely user-friendly. Our administrator has the ability to quickly fix any errors we might have made. The reports it generates allow us to give real-time information to our clients. The ability to review clients past purchases when adding items to their home is very helpful and selecting new furniture that will compliment what they have purchased in the past!

There are times that the software is down. This can wreak havoc on our business. This may not be hey STORIS issue but rather an in-house Ethan Allen issue. We also recently moved locations. This required a new store code. The system was unable to blend the client base from the old store code to the new one requiring searching a customer's information in two different places. Not a significant hindrance.

We've been with Storis since 2006. As our accounting applications service provider (ASP), we couldn't be happier with Storis as our "partner" for our software accounting needs. Transactional accounting at its best. Robust, redundancy built in, and modular. Storis maintains our Inventory on a perpetual basis as we require - from PO's through receiving and sales order sell through. A/P and A/R functions download perfectly with a fail-safe approval process. Customizable reporting to handle all including sales taxes. Truly, though, we are most grateful, not just regarding the software; but also, the Storis staff. They are always available to us when we need them to answer a question on rare transactions or when we've made input errors requiring their help to correct. It can be very sensitive, you have to get used to the way Storis communicates, example tab instead of enter which is less convenient. There also seem to be multiple steps required that don't always seem necessary, the search feature could be more broad. It is too specific sometimes.

I only have experience with STORIS but use it on a daily basis in multiple ways.

There are none, except this is the best the furniture world has for software and they worship it. The software is so outdated it's like stepping back 30 years. .Terrible, clunky, slow and just pathetically behind. They say it's because furniture is difficult but I've run logistics and financing before in other organizations it's just that Furniture as a whole is a racket and they exploit customers and STORIS exploits the companies.

Everything! It is slow, it looks and feels outdated. The company is so overly sensitive if you review them bad they withing days contact higher leadership in a conference call and demand retribution against employees of the organization who spoke out and they are overall. Not kidding had a review posted once and they wanted it taken down and me fired, the Vice president found me on LinkedIn shortly after my review went up. They're that petty cause they know they are slinging terrible and pathetic product. Furniture companies being cheap think they're getting top of the line (similar to what they tell their customers) when in reality they're getting a nice looking package with nothing inside for it to function properly. This product is a LEMON through and through STAY AWAY! Find a start up and invest as a company they will make something 10x better in months!
