Benefits:

We have had Spiceworks MSP installed on an older PC to run on our network. With this being setup we have had a network scanner, mapper, and IT help desk packaged all into one management place. It ran really well and everyone seemed to like the functionality of the help desk. We were able to update, cost, and even answer tickets through our phones.

Drawbacks:

It can be taxing on your network if you have limited bandwidth. Our MSP crashed a few times while trying to apply updates.

In sum:

Overall, it is a great system if you have a tight budget and the support is free.
